Overview
We are happy to announce that we will be giving out $8,000 in scholarships this year thanks to these generous sponsors!
Eligibility
To be eligible for any of the scholarships you must meet all of the following and provide proof of these criteria:
I am Southeast Asian or at least one parent is of Southeast Asian descent.
I am a Wisconsin Resident
I have a GPA of at least 2.5 or higher from the previous Fall 2024-2025 Semester or most recent transcript
Must be enrolled to attend school in Summer 2025, or Fall 2025-2026 if selected we will ask for proof or provide a high school transcript
If selected, must be able to attend the Winner's Reception in 2025 (Date/Time/Location to be announced when selected)
Cannot be a previous recipient

How to Apply & FAQ
This year we are allowing students to apply to 2 scholarships maximum if they qualify, however, students will only win 1 scholarship each, this is to ensure we award 7 different students for each scholarship. For example, if you apply to Scholarship A and Scholarship B you will only be awarded either Scholarship A or Scholarship B.

Available Scholarships
Community Impact Scholarship - $1,000
Sponsor: ElevAsian
The Community Impact Scholarship is awarded to students who have demonstrated a significant positive impact on their communities through active volunteerism, leadership roles, and initiatives that address local or community needs. Through this scholarship, we want to promote more student’s dedication to their roots by acknowledging and celebrating a student and their heart to go above and beyond when contributing to their community.

High School Freshman through Graduate level students
First Generation College Student Scholarship- $1,000 (2 Awardees)
Sponsor: Hmong Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce & Mai Yer Yang and Ge Yang
This scholarship is focused on our first-generation Southeast Asian students who are currently a High Senior to Graduate level who will be attending Undergraduate - Graduate school in Fall 2025-2026. We define first-generation college students meaning your parent(s) did not complete a 4-year college or university degree, regardless of other family member's level of education. We hope that providing this scholarship will support and encourage more first-generation Southeast Asian students to pursue higher education and reduce/lessen financial barriers in being the first.

High School Senior through Undergraduate Students
Dr. Pa Kou Her Legacy Scholarship- $2,000
Sponsor: Dr. Pa Kou Her’s Family & Friends
The Dr. Pa Kou Her Legacy Scholarship is designed to provide funding to students who have been impacted by cancer or to students whose immediate family has been impacted by cancer. Pa Kou was a first year medical student at Midwestern University School of Osteopathic Medicine when she was diagnosed with Stage IV Nasopharyngeal Cancer. Despite her illness, Pa Kou continued to pursue her education while undergoing treatment. Her illness progressed and she was unable to continue her medical education. In May of 2024, Pa Kou was awarded a Posthumous Medical Diploma. Although Pa Kou is unable to live out her dream as a medical provider, her family hopes that the Dr. Pa Kou Her Legacy Scholarship will be able to help other students impacted by cancer reach their dreams.

Mental Health Scholarship - $1,000 (2 Awardees)

This scholarship is awarded to students who are passionate about mental health and well-being. This scholarship aims to support students who recognize the importance of mental health and are intentional in navigating life with this in mind. Through this scholarship, we want to promote the importance of taking care of ourselves (mind, body and soul) so we can show up with compassion, kindness and understanding all throughout our life. We encourage students who are majoring or will be pursuing mental health, counseling and other mental-health related careers however you do not need to major in mental health to apply. As long as you have a passion and value mental health you qualify.

Non-Traditional Student Scholarship honoring Shong Yer Vang - $1,000

This scholarship is awarded to students who have delayed post-secondary education for at least one year or more after high school. Through this scholarship, we acknowledge the challenges that individuals may face in pursuing higher education later in life. We celebrate and commend your dedication to education and your perseverance in overcoming these obstacles. By supporting your journey, we hope to inspire continued success.
